Q. Can I download and print HathiTrust online books?

Purdue faculty, staff, and students have online access to 49% of the Purdue Libraries’ print-title collection through HathiTrust. 32% are pre-1923 volumes in the public domain that can be downloaded and printed. However, 17% are more recent titles still in copyright and only made accessible to Purdue Libraries during our Covid-19 mitigation efforts via the HathiTrust Emergency Temporary Access Service (ETAS).  ETAS titles can only be read online within a web browser. Downloading and printing are not allowed.  They are limited to one person at a time. The “check out” period for an ETAS book is one hour, but you can click “Return Early” at any time and it will become available for someone else.
