How do I request books that are not available in the Purdue libraries or already checked out?

Purdue University Libraries Interlibrary Loan (ILL) service supports the instructional, research, and scholarly activities of library patrons affiliated with Purdue by obtaining research materials not owned by the Purdue University Libraries. For more information about this service and to submit requests visit the ILL website.
To request an article through ILL, login to the ILL system, ILLiad. You will need to login using your PURDUE career account information.
Articles/Book Chapters: Click on "New Requests" in the top menu, then choose "PDF Article/Chapter Request." Here you will fill in as much information as you can about the article you wish to receive. After you have filled in the form, submit your request. Typical delivery time for articles is 3-5 days. You will receive an email when the article arrives and you will log back into the ILL website to retrieve your article electronically.
Books/Media: Click on "New Requests" in the top menu, then choose "Book/Media Loan Request." Fill in as much information as you can about the physical material you wish to borrow. After you have filled in the form, submit the request. Once processed in the ILL department, you will need to pick it up at the Circulation Desk on the first floor of HSSE Library. You will receive an email with the necessary information.
