How do I request books that are not available in the Purdue libraries or already checked out?

There are two ways:
1. Uborrow allows you to request BOOKS ONLY and is similar to Interlibrary Loan. These books are guaranteed a 12 week loan period with 1 - 4 week renewal period, and items are received within 5-7 days. PURDUE Career account login required. <>
2. Purdue University Libraries Interlibrary Loan service supports the instructional, research, and scholarly activities of library patrons affiliated with Purdue by obtaining research materials not owned by the Purdue University Libraries. For more information about the ILL service and to submit requests visit < >. To request an article through ILL, start at the Interlibrary Loan webpage at: < > You will need to login using your PURDUE career account information. Then click on "Copy request" button. Here you will fill in as much information as you can about the article you wish to receive. After you have filled in the form, submit your request. It might take ILL 7-10 days to obtain your article depending on where they have to go to borrow it. You will receive an email when the article arrives and you will log back into the ILL page to retrieve your article electronically. If you request a book, you will need to pick it up at the Circulation Desk on the first floor of HSSE Library. You will receive an email with the necessary information. Any questions, please contact ILL directly at or phone (765)494-2800.
