Why can't I access Library resources using the VPN?

Answer

The Campus VPN operates on a split tunnel configuration. This means that only traffic to IPs or machines within the campus network is routed through the VPN. To ensure seamless access to electronic resources:

  1. Use Library-Specific Links: For off-campus access, always navigate through the main library page search or utilize the A-Z database list. This guarantees that your access is authenticated and routed correctly through the necessary proxy servers.

  2. Troubleshooting with VPN Disconnect: Encountering access issues off-campus while connected to the VPN? A simple solution might be to disconnect your VPN. This step, though infrequently needed, could help resolve any random and sometimes strange conflicts between the split tunnel feature of the VPN and the library's authentication or proxy server.

  3. Need Assistance? If you're facing persistent issues or have any questions, don't hesitate to contact the Libraries eResources Support team for expert help.
